Education & Employability

Education is a direct means to breaking the cycle of poverty. Providing current and former Batshaw youth with the opportunity to receive post-secondary education or job skills training, allows them to continue their journey of perseverance and realize their potential.

“The Batshaw Foundation’s scholarship program helped me pay for my studies at Vanier College where I obtained a degree in Special Care Counselling, followed by my Bachelor’s degree from Concordia University. Now, I am doing my Master’s degree in Human Systems Intervention at Concordia and continuing to give back to Batshaw’s youth by chairing the Youth Advisory Council. Your support truly has the power to change lives. Thank you for believing in me and other youth like me.”
– Jasmine Brown, Former Batshaw Youth

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

  • 30% of youth who dropout do not join the workforce
